Apple is preparing for a major product launch next week, with the long-awaited debut of M4-powered Macs taking center stage. According to reliable sources like Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the first Macs with M4 chips are set to be revealed soon, possibly as early as next week. This includes a revamped Mac mini, new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models, and an updated iMac. While the exact details are still emerging, these products are likely to be announced through press releases or videos, avoiding the traditional keynote format.
The M4 Mac mini is particularly exciting, with leaks suggesting it will feature a smaller, sleeker design, reminiscent of an Apple TV, along with two front-facing USB-C ports for easier access. There are also rumors of a high-end version equipped with the M4 Pro chip, boasting five USB-C ports. Apple seems to be moving away from USB-A, embracing USB-C across its product lineup, including updated versions of the Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad, and Magic Keyboard.
While the official announcement date remains uncertain, speculation suggests that the M4 Mac launch could happen as early as next Tuesday, October 29. The tech giant has a history of launching products early in the week, and with media hands-on sessions reportedly scheduled for Wednesday in Los Angeles, it’s likely the new Macs will be announced just before. Some insiders have hinted at an even earlier launch for the redesigned Mac mini, possibly later this week.
Alongside the new Mac mini, the entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M4 chip is expected to make its debut. This model is rumored to include an additional Thunderbolt port, further enhancing its connectivity. Higher-end models will feature the M4 Pro and M4 Max chips, offering improved performance for power users. Meanwhile, the updated 24-inch iMac is set to retain its current design but receive an internal upgrade with the new M4 chip.
Apple has been busy preparing for these launches, and the timing aligns with other important events on its calendar, such as the company’s earnings report on Thursday, October 31. The new Macs are likely to capture attention just before Apple provides insight into its fiscal performance, further bolstering it’s presence in the tech world this quarter.
