Apple has released iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 with a redesigned Photos app, Calculator, and Control Center, improved home screen customization, dark mode icons, new Passwords app, and much more. The software update is available now over-the-air for iPhone and iPad users.

New iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 features

Here is a short and sweet list of all the new features that you can find in this release:

  • Locked and hidden apps using Touch ID or Face ID

  • Redesigned Calculator app with math notes

You can download the updates by going to Settings > General > Software Update on your iPhone or iPad. Wait a bit for the updates to show and start the download process. Just make sure that you are connected to a stable Internet connection and that your device has sufficient free storage to download and install the update.

Both software updates were originally announced at WWDC 24 earlier this year. One of the highlight set of features was Apple Intelligence, which includes new writing tools and language capabilities that would allow users to write content as well as summarize it, along with any incoming push notifications.

If your device already had iOS 17 or iPadOS 17 installed, you should be able to upgrade without any issues. Just in case, here are all the compatible iPhone and iPad models:
