Apple recently introduced The Weeknd: Open Hearts, an exclusive immersive music video that takes fans on a surreal journey through a stunning urban landscape. Directed by Anton Tammi, who is known for his visually compelling work, Open Hearts draws heavy inspiration from the iconic downtown Los Angeles skyline, creating a mesmerizing environment that feels alive with The Weeknd’s music.
For those eager to experience this new form of storytelling, Open Hearts is available for free to Apple Vision Pro users through the Apple TV app. Additionally, starting November 15, Apple Stores will offer in-store demos of the Vision Pro, allowing customers to immerse themselves in this groundbreaking experience before deciding to invest in the device.
Tor Myhren, Apple’s Vice President of Marketing Communications, emphasized that this collaboration with The Weeknd marks a pivotal moment in entertainment, with Apple Immersive Video combined with Vision Pro’s capabilities to create a new level of engagement. The combination of immersive visuals and Spatial Audio ensures that users feel as though they are part of the performance, offering a sensory experience that goes far beyond traditional media consumption.
With Vision Pro, fans experience storytelling in ways that were not possible before: with immersive visuals and Spatial Audio that make them feel like they’re right in the middle of the action. This is an exciting leap forward in how music and technology come together to deliver memorable experiences for fans, and we’re proud to collaborate with The Weeknd to make it happen.
For those excited about the future of immersive music, Apple is also preparing the launch of Concert for One, a new series that will debut on November 22. This series kicks off with an intimate performance by BRIT Award-winning artist RAYE, recorded at Air Studios in London. Fans can expect a blend of R&B, jazz, and pop, with the immersive experience enhanced by Spatial Audio. Much like Open Hearts, the Concert for One series is designed to give viewers the feeling of being at a live performance, but with the added benefit of being the best seat in the house.
The Concert for One series is just the beginning, as Apple aims to continue providing exclusive content that takes advantage of the Vision Pro’s capabilities. RAYE’s performance will also be available as a Spatial Audio EP exclusively on Apple Music, offering fans a deeper audio experience that complements the visual journey.
