WhatsApp is rolling out new features that closely resemble those found in Instagram Stories, enhancing the platform’s popular Status updates. One of the most significant additions is the ability for users to tag other people in their Status. This new functionality makes it easier for users to interact with friends and family through more personalized content sharing on the app.

The new tagging feature allows users to mention up to five other WhatsApp accounts in their Status updates. Once tagged, these users will receive a private notification and can choose to reshare the Status on their own account.
