Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, renowned for his accurate predictions regarding Apple products, has delivered another set of insights, shedding light on the upcoming iPhone SE 4 and new iPad Air versions. According to his report, Apple’s next-generation iPhone SE is expected to launch in early 2025, marking a significant redesign that aligns with the iPhone 14’s sleek aesthetic.

The iPhone SE 4 will likely feature a 6.1-inch OLED display, a major upgrade from the current model’s 4.7-inch LCD. This shift signals Apple’s continued transition away from LCD technology. Along with the new display, the physical Home button will be removed, and replaced by Face ID, aligning with the design philosophy of recent iPhones. Rumors also suggest the SE 4 will house the powerful A18 chip, making it capable of running Apple Intelligence—Apple’s suite of AI-driven features introduced in iOS 18.1.

These hardware upgrades could also lead to a price increase, with speculation suggesting a starting price between $400 and $500. However, Apple is expected to maintain the SE’s reputation as an affordable option. Another feature that is set to arrive is the USB-C port, replacing the familiar Lightning connector, alongside the introduction of the Action button, which debuted on the iPhone 15 Pro series.

The iPhone SE 4’s rear camera is also expected to see an upgrade, jumping from 12MP to 48MP. The increased RAM, which will double to 8GB, will further support advanced AI functions, positioning the SE 4 as the most affordable iPhone capable of running Apple Intelligence.

On the tablet side, Gurman reports that new 11- and 13-inch versions of the iPad Air will also launch around the same time. While the design is expected to remain consistent, the new models will see “internal improvements,” likely including upgraded chipsets. There’s speculation that these iPads will receive new accessories, such as revamped Magic Keyboards.

As the 2025 launch of the iPhone SE 4 and updated iPad Air draws closer, Apple’s supply chain is already gearing up for production. All signs point to a busy year ahead for Apple, with these new models set to make waves in the budget-friendly segment of the market.
